My Story
I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. My love for film and media began after my first viewing of Richard Donner's 1985 classic The Goonies. At 8 years old I attended Facets film camp where we created a short film called The Differ. The experience set the trajectory for my future. I knew that no matter the obstacle, my career would be in television. I just didn't know how. Broadcast Journalism was a possible option, so I took it. Over the course of 4 years, I have found my place in the world of journalism. The storytelling component drew me in and has not let me go. The world of journalism is fast-paced and often we forget our place in it. My purpose is telling a story, making the audience feel the emotion, the outrage, the sadness, the joy. Try asking: am I alone in this story or is this a collective experience? You'd be surprised at how many people relate. This website is a manifestation of everything I have created during my four years in college. It took a while to find my voice through the noise, but I found it.
